Damian Priest On Changes In WWE: Im A Part Of History, Its Exciting
is excited about the dawn of a new day in WWE.
Following Vince McMahon’s retirement, Triple H was named as the new head of creative, while Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were named as the co-CEOs. Fans have already been buzzing about the changes under Triple H’s direction and the potential for more in the near future.
In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Priest shared his reaction to the news that McMahon would be stepping down as WWE Chairman and CEO.
“Wow – that was my reaction!,” said Priest. He went on to note that the beginning of this new era is special, and he’s excited that he’s part part of something that will be remembered.
“I’m a part of history,” said Priest. “We, as performers, wanna do things people remember, and wanna be involved with something that – like a game changer! This is one of them. The idea of Vince McMahon retiring is something epic, and I work here while it’s happening. So, I know I am literally a part of history and it’s exciting.”
Priest made it clear that “all of us” are fired up about the way that change is in the air. The former “Archer of Infamy” once worked closely with Triple H during his time in NXT, and he spoke highly of “The Game” when commenting on his new position.
“We’re still just starting, so it’s one of those things – time will tell the different, right? We can’t really opinionate too much because it just happened,” said Priest. “But as a boss, a human being – Triple H is awesome! He was born for this business, so I’m excited to see what history he can create now being in charge. It’s exciting! I believe him, I think everybody does, and we look forward to being a part of something special for our fans and the industry.”
