Biography of Jaire Alexander

Jaire was born in Charlotte, South Carolina on February 9, 1997 as Jaire Zakar Alexander. He is an alumnus of Rocky River High School, Charlotte, North Carolina.

As a child, he started playing the high school grid game where he recorded 30 tackles and 4 interceptions for the first time. As a wide receiver, he had 68 receptions for 1,123 yards, averaging 16.5 and 18 touchdowns. During his high school years, Jaire declared his commitment to the University of South Carolina, but would later change his commitment to the University of Louisville, after his parents felt he was not getting not everything he owed from school. So he started his college career in 2015 with Louisville under coach Bobby Petrino.

During his college career which ended in 2017, he had 77 tackles with 7 interceptions. In 2016 he was named All-ACC second team and after his junior season in 2017, Jaire Alexander decided to forfeit his senior year and went to the draft. He also did not play in the 2017 TaxSlayer Bowl due to multiple injuries he sustained throughout the season.

In 2018, he was selected 18th overall for the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and became the third defenseman in Louisville history to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. The other two are DB Lenny Lyles and S Calvin Pryor. Jaire also became the first Louisville player to be drafted in the first round by the Green Bay.

In May 2018, he signed a four-year contract that will keep him with the team until 2022. The deal is worth $12.147 million, including a signing bonus of $6.914 million.

Jaire Alexander’s father’s name is LandisAlexandre but his mother’s name is not known. Jaire did, however, mention his mom, dad, siblings, and grandparents in an interview and how knit they are. He also said they were his biggest supporters and never failed to attend any of his games and travel with him wherever he goes.
